Well, many of you have E-mailed me over the last number of years asking me to authenticate one of these paintings as an original Dalhart Windberg painting. I know  that it is signed Windberg (in white) but it is NOT the real deal.

These Paintings are what the Art industry has called “Factory Paintings” from China. Everyone has seen on TV, ads for “Over the Sofa Painting for $35″ since the early 80′s. I suspect that these are the same type of painting. It has been common practice for the Chinese to use popular American Artist names on their product to promote sales. This kind of DECEPTION has been permitted by our government in many different products over the last thirty years. Knowing that the Chinese do not acknowledge any international copy right laws.     BUYER BEWARE

This exhibit will be held at the Windberg Art Center, 7110 NorthIH 35, Georgetown, TX starting with the Opening on Saturday May 21st  and the show will hang for one week, ending May 27th.

The theme for this exhibit is “Challenge Paintings”. Every monthof the year the Pastel Society meets and assigns a new monthly challenge. These challenges range from,” landscape”,” still life”, to maybe something like ” feathers”, Scales, or ” My favorite ___”. And every month the participating members show and talk about  their challenge paintings at that meeting.  This show is shure to have a very beautiful and interesting array of paintings for your enjoyment. Come and see the 2010 Central Texas Pastel Society Spring Show & Sale, and exhibit of “Challenges”.

IN ADDITION:

The C.T.P.S. has asked Mike and Dalhart Windberg to exhibit their works along with the other artist in this show. The Windbergs were very honored and agreed to exhibit along with the Society members.

Opening night will be Saturday May 21st , 5 to 9pm. All artist will be at the opening to meet with guests. Refreshments will be served and every one will want to register for the hourly door prizes donated by the sponsors.

     For the next two decades he limited his workshops to one or two per year. Taking students out into the field on locations where the best examples of the American landscape can be found. Each of these workshops where always filled with art students eager to travel to distant destinations ready to capture the beauty and grandeur of the landscape with their brush and canvas. His goal was to eventually have a home base for the workshops and develop a art school centered around his teachings in the traditional art styles and techniques.

     In 2006 construction started on this goal and in February 2007 the first workshop was held at the Windberg Art Center, just north of Georgetown, Texas. The Windberg Art Center hosts and sponsors monthly art workshops given by nationally known artist including the Windberg workshops. Weekly classes are still forming and growing in all subjects including basic drawing, life drawing, pastel, portrait, watercolor, and oil painting.

     Inside the Windberg Art Center we have included an Art Supply Store which specializes in the items needed for the different workshops and classes that we sponsor and a higher quality items not always available at most art supply stores. We also have a line of specialty items that have been designed by Dalhart Windberg and manufactured and sold exclusively though the Art Center store.
